The Saddleback athletics department learned on Monday that two Bobcats swept the Orange Empire Conference Athlete-of-the-Week Awards for this past week. Men’s basketball player James Burries and softball pitcher Alexa Pfutzenreuter both had outstanding performances in winning the weekly award.

The Saddleback softball team had a big performance on Friday as pitcher Alexa Pfutzenreuter pitched the Bobcats to a 1-0 victory over Mt. San Jacinto College at Esencia Park. Pfutzenreuter pitched the first no-hitter for the program since the 2020 season.

The Saddleback women’s softball team picked up its first win of the season with a 2-1 victory at Southwestern College on Monday in Chula Vista. The Bobcats took an early lead and made it stick.
