Love wins weekly award

The Saddleback women's cross country team was back in the news this week with the news that Payton Love has been recognized as the 5CTCA Runner-of-the-Week.  Love was one of four harriers in the state to be recognized by the organization.

The California Community College Cross Country and Track & Field Coaches Association selected Love as one of the premier athletes in the state after she won her first collegiate race at the Tour de Cuesta in San Luis Obispo.  Love finished the 5k layout of the John Fairbanks course in 20:33.3 to win by 5.5 seconds. 

Joining Love was Alexandra Van Holt (Santa Rosa), Daniel Gonzales (San Joaquin Delta) and Anthony Erickson (Cuesta).
