Cats swat away Hornets in OEC opener

The Saddleback women's volleyball team opened Orange Empire Conference play with a 3-0 victory against Fullerton College on Friday night inside the gymnasium.  The Bobcats are now 5-2 overall.

Saddleback started slowly, making a number of mistakes and allowing Fullerton to hang around in the opening game of the night.  The Bobcats finally went on a run to squeak out a win.  Saddleback eventually took the opening set, 25-23, and used the win as a springboard for complete domination over the final two sets.  Saddleback would win game two, 25-10, before finishing off the Hornets, 25-13, in the third and final set.

Saddleback was led by Stila Fresenius, who finished with 15 kills and three service aces.  Fresenius and Olivia Gonzalez led the team with 10 digs apiece while Bryn Craig-Kromm led the team with four service aces.

Saddleback is now 5-2 overall and 1-0 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats will travel to Santa Ana College on Wednesday (6:00 PM) before returning home to play Santiago Canyon College on Friday (6:00 PM).
