McGrath makes a Titan commitment

The Saddleback track & field and cross country programs were back in the news this week with the announcement of another commitment from a long-distance runner.  Sophomore Dana McGrath has made a commitment to Cal State Fullerton, according to the cross country office.

McGrath had a historic career at Saddleback, setting multiple records and making a case for the greatest long-distance runner in Gaucho history.  She set records in both the 800 meters and 600 meters while being a part of a record-setting distance relay team.

McGrath finished second in the state in the 800 meters at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships last spring.  She also finished sixth in the state at the CCCAA Cross Country State Finals in November in leading the Gauchos to a second place finish.

McGrath made a commitment to Cal State Fullerton for both cross country and track & field.  The Titans compete in the Big West Conference.

McGrath lettered in cross country, track and swimming at Aliso Niguel High School before graduating in 2018.  While at ANHS, McGrath made it to CIF in all three sports and was a scholar-athlete.
