Bobcats claw way into second

The Saddleback men's cross country season kicked off on Friday and the Bobcats ran well at the Tour de Cuesta in San Luis Obispo.  Saddleback had three top-10 finishers in placing second to start the season.

Sophomore Mitch Groff led the way for Saddleback, finishing fourth overall.  Groff finished the 4-mile trek in 22:54.7 for a great start to the season.

Saddleback had two others in the top-10 in Jaeden Cornejo and Eric Dillon.  Cornejo was fifth overall with a time of 23:29.3 while Dillon was seventh in a time of 23:36.9. 

Saddleback's Darin Hoi was 11th (24:27.6) while Devin Martinez was 29th (28:38.1) and Anthony Arriola was 31st (30:12.9). 

Saddleback finished with 50 points as a team for second place.  Moorpark led the way at 29 points.

Saddleback will compete again at the San Diego Kickoff next Friday at Harry Griffith Park.
