Ibarra Canales adds to trophy case

The Saddleback women's cross-country program was back in the news this week with the announcement that one of its athletes has been recognized at the state level.  Danna Ibarra Canales was named the 5CTCA Runner-of-the-Week.

Ibarra Canales won the 3C2A Southern California Regional Finals a week earlier and as a result was named the Runner-of-the-Week for Southern California along with San Diego Mesa's Ian Rosen.

Ibarra Canales won the SoCal Finals in a time of 18:58, which chopped off nearly 30 seconds from her time at the SoCal Preview a month earlier.

Ibarra Canales leads the Bobcats to battle at the 3C2A State Championships this weekend in Fresno.  She is one of the favorites to capture the individual state championship. Ibarra Canales has won all but one race this season, and is the reigning state champion in the 1,500 meters for track & field.
