Women play well at Battle at the Beach

The Saddleback women's water polo team had a successful weekend at the annual Battle of the Beach at Long Beach City College.  The Gauchos finished 2-2 over the weekend and now stand at 11-8 on the season.

Saddleback was just 2-2, but both losses were by one goal.  The Gauchos opened with a dominating 14-3 win over Southwestern College on Friday before dropping the afternoon contest against fellow Orange Empire Conference foe Cypress in overtime, 11-10.

Saddleback once again opened with a victory on Saturday morning, defeating Palomar College 16-9 before falling to Los Angeles Valley College 13-12 in the late game.

Saddleback is now 11-8 overall and 3-5 in OEC play.  The Gauchos will play in the Santa Barbara City College Tournament this Saturday at 9:00 AM.
