Cats finish off sweeps week
The Saddleback women's volleyball team won its fourth straight match with a 3-0 victory over Santa Ana College on Friday night in Santa Ana. The Bobcats remain in a tie for first place in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC).
Saddleback won its second match of the week by virtue of a 3-0 sweep. It came on the heels of racing past Fullerton College on Wednesday night in straight sets.
Saddleback made quick work of Santa Ana on Friday night, winning 25-15, 25-18 and 25-20.
Saddleback has now won four straight matches and 10 of its last 11. The sweep on Friday was the eighth of the season for the Bobcats.
Saddleback welcomed back Lulu Utterback on Friday and she responded with 22 kills, four digs and two service aces. Sophie Vienna led the team with 40 assists while Brynn Craig-Kromm had a team-high 13 digs.
Saddleback is tied atop the OEC standings alongside Orange Coast College. The Bobcats will continue OEC play on Wednesday when they host Santiago Canyon College. The Bobcats and Hawks are set to start at 6:00 PM inside the gymnasium.
