Bobcats set new PB’s with standards

The Saddleback women's track & field team was in action this past weekend at the Occidental Distance Carnival at Occidental College.  A handful of Bobcats had personal-best times and scores at the meet.

Maya Schweitzer had personal-bests in both the triple jump and long jump on Saturday.  Schweitzer's leap in the triple (9.77-meters) was good enough for 5th place in the event and the 18th longest leap in the state this season.  She also finished 11th in the long jump with a leap of 4.89-meters.  It was the 33rd longest leap in the state this season.

Casey Jones shattered her personal-best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday when she finished 14th at the meet in a time of 12:31.93.  It earned Jones the state's "A" standard and was the fifth fastest time in the state this season.

Another earning an "A" standard was Danna Ibarra Canales, who broke a personal-best when she finished ninth in the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:52.51.  It was the sixth fastest time in the state this season.

Saddleback will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Cal State Los Angeles Meet.
