Green and Sims headline All-OEC ballots

The Saddleback women's soccer team is preparing for the playoffs after winning the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) championship, which means the coaches from the conference convened this past weekend to choose an all-conference team.  The Bobcats had 10 players and the coaching staff chosen to the team.

Chloe Green and Alyssa Sims were the headliners, taking home Conference MVP and Defensive MVP, respectively.

Green shattered all the program scoring records this season when she tallied 33 goals in 20 games, including a six-goal game against Fullerton to break the single-game record.  Green enters the playoffs tied for the state lead in goals.

Sims was the leader of a defense that allowed just six goals all season.  The Bobcats set a program record when they went 677 consecutive minutes without surrendering a goal during the course of the season, finishing the regular season with 15 shutouts.

Joining Green and Sims on the All-Orange Empire Conference First Team were Summer Hackett, Emma Radzai, Alexa Livingstone and McKenna Pua

Hackett was part of a 1-2-3 punch on defense alongside Sims and Sophia Drake.  She also proved to be a great passer, finishing third on the team with eight assists while scoring a pair of goals from the back line.

Radzai played in all 20 games, finishing with one goal and four assists.  Her lone goal came at Santiago Canyon College in a 6-1 victory over the Hawks.

Livingstone was instrumental in the success of Green, finishing second on the team with nine assists while scoring three goals of her own.  She had three games with two assists, all of which came during conference play.

Pua was a force in the middle of the field and had two goals and an assists during the course of the season.  She was more involved in the offense down the stretch, recording shots in the final four games of the season with a goal against Irvine Valley.

Saddleback had four other players named to the All-Orange Empire Conference Second Team in Christina Santoyo, Sophia Drake, Alexis Wright and Mazey Kasberg.  The four players combined for 12 goals and 16 assists during the course of the season.

Saddleback's coaching staff was chosen as the Coaching Staff-of-the-Year as the Bobcats finished the regular season 19-0-1 overall and 13-0-1 in Orange Empire Conference play.
