Green wins national honor
The Saddleback women's soccer program was back in the news this week with the announcement that sophomore Chloe Green has won the national player-of-the-week handed out by The United Soccer Coaches. Green currently leads the state with 30 goals.
Green had a big week from October 17-24 when she finished with 13 points, leading the Bobcats to wins over Santiago Canyon, Cypress and Santa Ana. She finished with four goals for the week, including a hat trick against Santa Ana.
Green followed up the week with seven goals in the past two games, including a record-setting day against Fullerton when she broke the programs single-game record with six goals in a game.
Green leads the state with 30 goals for the season, which breaks program record set by Danyelle Allen (28) in 2013.
Green and the Bobcats are currently 16-0-1 overall this season and 10-0-1 in Orange Empire Conference play. They will travel to Orange Coast College on Friday to face the Pirates at 1:00 PM.
