Shutout streak still intact for soccer

Shutout streak still intact for soccer

The women's soccer team improved to 3-0 on Friday with a 3-0 win over Mt. San Jacinto College in Menifee.  The Gauchos have yet to surrender a goal heading into Tuesday's game at San Diego.

Saddleback has been nearly perfect thus far, outscoring opponents 8-0 through three matches.  The keeper combination of Angelica Ramos and Shana Leventhal have been splitting time with the defense limiting the number of chances for the opponents.

On Friday, Saddleback received a goal from Sabrina Garrido off a pass from Liana Larkins in the 22nd minute for a 1-0.  It would be all the Gauchos would need as they took a 1-0 lead into the intermission.

Helene Hollidge would add two second-half goals off passes from Breanna Taboada and Danielle Scelsi in the 55th and 67th minutes, giving Saddleback yet another comfortable win to start the season.

The keeper combination of Ramos and Leventhal would finish with a total of nine saves for the game.

Saddleback will look to keep things rolling on Tuesday when it travels to San Diego City College.  The kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
