Two more players on the move

The Saddleback women's basketball program was back in the news this past week when the coach's office announced that two more players from the 2018-19 squad had committed to four-year universities.  Kayla De Leon and Raven Herrington both made decisions on where they will continue their collegiate career.

De Leon will continue her career at La Sierra University while Herrington will head to Humboldt State University.

De Leon set a couple of Saddleback records this past season when she broke both the records for attempted 3-pointers and 3-pointers made for a career.   De Leon made 160-of-484 from long range in her two years at Saddleback.  She also holds the records for 3-pointers made in a game (9) and 3-point attempts in a game (20).  In addition, De Leon was a Second Team All-Orange Empire Conference selection this past season.

De Leon signed with La Sierra, located in Riverside, California.  The Golden Eagles play under the NAIA umbrella within the California Pacific Conference.

Herrington averaged 13.4 points and 3.5 assists-per-game this past season, scoring a season-high 26 points against Fullerton College on January 18.  She scored 616 points in two seasons at Saddleback while dishing out 143 assists.

Herrington will play at Humboldt State, located in Arcata, California.  The Lumberjacks play an NCAA D2 schedule within the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
