Two Gauchos tabbed All-OEC
The women's basketball team had two players named to the all-Orange Empire Conference Team on Saturday morning at the post-season coaches meeting at Fullerton College. Raven Herrington and Kayla De Leon were both named to the team by the coaches.
Herrington and De Leon were 2-of-16 players named to the All-Orange Empire Conference Team, with both being named to the second team.
Herrington averaged 13 points and 4.7 rebounds-per-game, shooting 74.4% from the free throw line. She scored in double-figures in 10 of the last 11 games of the season, scoring a season high of 35 points against Orange Coast College on February 7. Herrington is a freshman from Vista Murrieta High School.
De Leon was the leading scorer for Saddleback, averaging 16.7 points and 3.7 rebounds-per-game while shooting 35.5% from three-point range and 75.8% from the free throw line. She was a big part of a record-setting year for the program from long range, setting the new individual three-point record with 92 made from beyond the arc. The also broke the single-game record three times, setting the new single-game mark with nine against Riverside City College on January 17. De Leon is a freshman from Patriot High School.
