Lasting paces Gauchos at GWC Invite

The Saddleback men's cross country team was in action on Friday at the Golden West Invitational in Huntington Beach.  Sophomore Julian Lasting the Gauchos with a top-20 performance.

Saddleback was a bit shorthanded on Friday and didn't have enough runners to tally a team score.  That didn't stop Lasting from a solid performance, finishing 19^th in a field of 158.  Lasting crossed the finish line of the 4-mile trek in 22:25.76, which was a huge improvement off a 73^rd place last week at the SoCal Preview (23:19.6). 

Lasting was one of four gauchos to compete on Friday in Huntington Beach.  Spencer Kandel finished in 53^rd place (23:32.84) while Josh Smith was 92^nd (25:08.06) and Calvin Shaw 124^th (26:49.23).

Saddleback has a week off before competing in the Cerritos Falcon Invitational on October 4.
