The Saddleback men's soccer team defeated Santiago Canyon College, 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon in Orange. The Bobcats remain in fourth place in the Orange Empire Conference with the win.
Saddleback came out hot and looking to avenge a tie against Santiago Canyon four weeks back. The Bobcats didn't mess around on Tuesday, scoring early and often in arguably its best win in nearly two months.
Andrew Jun opened the scoring in the 20th minute with his ninth goal of the season for a 1-0 lead. The Bobcats made it 2-0 eight minutes later when Jason Starcks took a pass from Kevin Sanchez and knocked home his third goal of the season. Saddleback had a 11-1 advantage in shots-on-goal in the opening half.
Saddleback struck quickly in the second half when Jun scored his second of the game in the 49th minute off a pass from Tyler Petersen. The Bobcats added insult to injury in the 63rd minute when Zerak Ayoub scored off a pass from Sanchez for a 4-0 advantage.
Saddleback finished the game with a 19-3 advantage in total shots and a 9-0 advantage in shots-on-goal.
Saddleback is now 7-5-5 overall and 4-3-4 in Orange Empire Conference play. The Bobcats will play again on Friday when they host Orange Coast College. Saddleback and Orange Coast are scheduled to start at 3:00 PM inside the stadium.
