Bobcats finish second in OEC

The Saddleback spring sports calendar came to close on Monday with a second place finish by the men's golf team at the Orange Empire Conference Finals at Candlewood Country Club.  The Bobcats finished third at the finals, passing up Orange Coast College and moving into second place in the final standings.

Saddleback finished second in the opening round of the day, posting a solid team score of 369.  They were one shot back of Mt. San Antonio College, with all five scores at 75-or-better.  Chase Bosanko led the charge, shooting a 2-over-par round of 72 on the 6,177-yard layout.  Bosanko (pictured) was followed closely by Dustin Vasquez (73), Denis Watson (74),  Zachary Stout (75) and Patrick Jaksch (75).

Saddleback finished fourth in round two after shooting a team score of 382.  The Bobcats managed to hold off Orange Coast by one shot in the final round, giving them a two-game lead over the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference standings.  Patrick Jaksch was the leader in the clubhouse in round two for the Bobcats, shooting 73.  Jaksch was the team medalist on the day for Saddleback with a two-round total of 148.  His total was good enough for seventh place in medalist play overall.
