Bobcats win at Tijeras
The Saddleback men's golf team won its third tournament of the year at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita on Monday afternoon. The Bobcats were two shots better than both Mt. San Antonio College and Orange Coast College with one event remaining on the schedule.
Saddleback had to have a win if it was going to stay in the race for the Orange Empire Conference title. The Bobcats did their part, gaining a game on Mt. SAC and two games on Orange Coast. Saddleback is now eight games back of Mt. SAC and one game back of OCC with a 36-hole tournament remaining (double points) at Candlewood Country Club in two weeks.
Saddleback had a solid lineup throughout, posting a team total of 377 on a day when conditions were tough. Denis Watson led the Bobcat contingent, shooting an even-par round of 72 to finish second in medalist play. He was followed by Chase Bosanko (74), Zachary Stout (74), Greg Williams (76) and Dustin Vasquez (81).
