Men’s golf opens season with a win

It's been nearly 400 days since Saddleback had an athletic competition and in the first outing in over 13 months they had a big win on opening day of the men's golf season.  Chase Bosanko shot a 2-under-par round of 70 at Spring Valley Lake Golf Course in Victorville as Saddleback had a team score of 369.

Bosanko (pictured last season) shot 35-35 on the par-72 layout, making five birdies on the day.  His 2-under round tied him for medalist honors with Riverside City College's Theo Delehanty.

Saddleback also received tremendous rounds from Patrick Jaksch (72), Arthur Hess (74), Zachary Stout (74) and Dustin Vasquez (79).

"It was a great way to start the season," head coach Wayne Westling said.  "Hopefully they can use this round to build some confidence moving forward."

Saddleback's last win in a multi-team event was in 2017 when they won at El Camino Country Club at the SoCal Preview in Oceanside on March 20, 2017.  The score of 369 is the lowest score in at least eight years.  Our online records go back to 2013 and when we have access to years previous to 2013, we will give an update.
