Men’s golf finishes in the middle at Olivas Links
The Saddleback men's golf team finished 11th out of 18 teams on Monday at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura. Kyle Small and Alec Martinson led the Gauchos with (5-over-par) rounds of 77.
Saddleback finished with a team total of 392, tying both Cypress and Palomar for 10th place in team play but due to card-offs finished 11th. The Gauchos were 35 shots back of Santa Barbara City College, who had four players shoot in red numbers.
Saddleback had four players in the 70's led by Small (pictured) and Martinson. Jacob Reimers shot 78 while Roberto Lievana shot 79 as it was the Gauchos' fourth best team score of the year. The Gauchos finished fourth among teams in the Orange Empire Conference.
Small and Martinson tied for 47th place in medalist play.
Saddleback will play again in conference action at Santa Ana Country Club on Wednesday.
