Golfers start 2015 season

The Saddleback College men's golf team opened the 2015 season with an 8th place finish out of 16 teams competing in the Riverside City College Invitational this week.

Nick Prudhomme paced the Gauchos with a 2-over-par 74 while sophomore Jake Reimers (pictured) added a 76 and sophomore transfer Alec Martinson added a 77 as the Gauchos ended up with a team score of 390.

Host Riverside won the event with a team score of 372 while UC Riverside was second at 380 and Santiago Canyon took third at 381.   Saddleback was just one stroke behind both Palomar and College of the Desert which tied for sixth place at 389.

The Gauchos open the Orange Empire Conference schedule on Monday, February 9, at the Los Serranos Country Club for the two-day OEC Tee-Off Classic.
