Berwald is commit #15
The Saddleback football program was back in the news this week with the announcement of another commitment to the four-year level. Quarterback Branden Berwald is the 15th commitment of the off-season.
Berwald committed to Missouri Western University, located in Saint Joseph, Missouri. The Griffins play an NCAA D2 schedule within the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).
Berwald played in nine games for Saddleback in 2023, completing 61.4% of his passes. He was fourth on the team in rushing, totaling 258 yards and three scores on the ground.
Berwald lettered in football and lacrosse at White Bear Lake High School (MN) before graduating in 2021. While at WBLHS, Berwald was a team captain and an All-Suburban Eastern Conference selection. In addition, he was an AP Scholar with honors and won an award for excellence in arts.
