Moore is latest football commit

The Saddleback football program was back in the news this week with the announcement of another player from the 2019 squad making a commitment to a four-year program.  Sophomore Austin Moore has committed to Youngstown State.

Saddleback has been red hot in recent weeks, with a number of players making commitments.

Moore played in both 2017 and 2019, totaling 41 tackles, 11 tackles-for-loss and five sacks in 19 games.  His biggest game of the 2019 campaign came against Grossmont College when he registered three tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, one sack and a forced-fumble in a 56-6 win against the Griffins.

Moore lettered in football and wrestling at San Clemente High School before graduating in 2017.  While at SCHS, Moore was an all-state selection and the Defensive MVP of the team, helping the Tritons win a state title.  In addition, he was voted Male Athlete-of-the-Year.  Moore was also a four-time league champion in wrestling and placed third at the CIF championships.

Saddleback now has at-least 24 different players moving on to four-year programs to play football, with many more expected to drop in the coming weeks.
