Rabay earns POW honors

The Saddleback football team is fresh off an opening-day win over College of the Desert and with the win came some notoriety as Christian Rabay was named the National Division Southern League Defensive Player-of-the-Week. 

Rabay is a sophomore from Centennial High School who co-led the Gauchos with eight tackles on Saturday night in Palm Desert.  In addition to his tackle numbers, Rabay had an interception that he returned 27 yards and recorded a tackle-for-loss.

Rabay and the Gauchos get a tough test this week when they head to Long Beach City College to take on the Vikings.  Saddleback enters the contest ranked No. 17 in the nation by JCGridiron.com while the Vikings come in at No. 21.  Start time is set for 6:00 PM in Long Beach.
