The Saddleback football team will look to grab a share of the lead in the National Division Southern Conference standings as they face high-powered Fullerton College on Homecoming night this Saturday.  For those that can't make it to the game, it can be seen via streaming video on the Gaucho Sports Network.

Saddleback and Fullerton are both coming off big wins as the Gauchos streaked past Ventura College 52-28 this past weekend while the Hornets toppled previous top-ranked Riverside College 38-36.  Saddleback and Fullerton have met 28 times since the beginning of the series in 1982, with the Gauchos holding a 15-13 edge in the series.  Saddleback has won the last three meetings between the two teams, including a 44-29 win a season ago at Fullerton.

Both teams have received high praise in the polls this week as Fullerton comes in ranked No. 4 in the nation in the weekly JCGridiron.com Dirty 30 National Rankings while Saddleback comes in at No. 27. 

Both teams have individuals among the state leaders as Saddleback quarterback Tim Belman currently leads the state with 381-yards-passing-per-game while Fullerton's Ryan Byrd is fifth in the state with 120-yards-rushing-per-game.   The Gauchos and Hornets are both in the top-10 in the state in total offense, which should lead to some fireworks on Saturday night.
