Cranton commits to San Diego State
The Saddleback baseball program was back in the news this week with the announcement that another member of the 2021 squad has committed to a four-year school. Hunter Cranton committed to San Diego State University, according to the baseball office.
Cranton appeared in five games this season, finishing with two saves out of the bullpen. He had six strikeouts in five innings of work.
Cranton lettered in baseball at JSerra Catholic High School before graduating in 2019. While at JSCHS, Cranton was four-year letterman, winning the Boras Classic MVP.
San Diego State plays an NCAA D1 schedule and plays in the Mountain West Conference. The Aztecs finished 30-16 overall and 22-14 in Big West Conference play in 2021.
Cranton is the ninth Saddleback player to sign with a four-year school this year and the seventh member of the pitching staff.
