Canty makes a commitment

The Saddleback baseball program was back in the news this week as the baseball office announced another commitment from the 2020 team.  Sophomore Joseph Canty gave a commitment to the San Diego Christian College.

Canty played for 1+ seasons at Saddleback, playing in 23 games as a freshman in 2019 and appearing in 19 games this spring before the season was canceled due to the Coronavirus.  Canty had six doubles and 14 RBI for his career at Saddleback, making no errors in 31 chances in the field.

San Diego Christian College plays in the Golden State Athletic Conference under the NAIA umbrella.  The Hawks started the season at 13-14 overall in 2020 before the season was cut short.

Canty lettered in baseball and football at Santa Margarita Catholic High School before graduating in 2018.  

Canty is the second member of the 2020 team to make a commitment to a four-year school.
