Cats cruise past Vaqueros for 2-0 start
The Saddleback women's tennis team improved to 2-0 with a 9-0 sweep of Glendale College on Friday in Glendale. The Bobcats will play on the road next Tuesday.
Saddleback made quick work of a Glendale squad that came into the matchup with just five players, thus giving the Bobcats a 2-0 lead out of the gate. Saddleback didn't mess around, quickly making it 4-0 when it won at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Brooke Buser and Eleanor Hamlin scored an 8-0 sweep at No. 1 doubles before Averie Valverde (pictured) and Kellie Hoang cruised to a win at No. 2 doubles, 8-2.
Saddleback then swept all five singles matches played, dropping just 15 total games while winning 60. The most impressive win came from Natalie den Dulk, who swept her opponent (6-0, 6-0) at No. 5 singles.
Saddleback is now 2-0 to start the season. The Bobcats will play again at San Diego City College on Tuesday. Saddleback and San Diego City are scheduled to start at 1:00 PM in San Diego.
