Reid off to a hot start

The Saddleback swim team took to the pool for the first time in 2025 at the Golden West Invitational in Huntington Beach.  Sophomore Julia Reid won the 100 Breaststroke.

Reid started the season where she left off in 2024 when she finished second in the state in the 200 Breaststroke and eighth in the 100 Breaststroke. 

Reid opened the season with a win in the 100 Breaststroke when she touched the pad at 1:12 to win by over two seconds.  She flew through the first 50 yards in 34.05 before cruising to the win.

Reid also finished second in the 50 Breaststroke (33.38) and third in the 100 Freestyle (57.55).

Saddleback will be back in the water this Thursday and Friday when it hosts the opening Orange Empire Conference meet of the season.  The diving competition will take place on Thursday with the swimming portion of the meet taking place on Friday (9:30 AM).
