Reid sets record as Cats finish fourth

The Saddleback women's swim and dive team finished fourth at the Orange Empire Conference Finals on Saturday at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.  Julia Reid had a sensational meet, leading the Bobcats with 54 individual points.

Reid broke a program record on Saturday when finishing second in the 200 Breaststroke.  She touched the pad in 2:27.02, breaking the old program record set by Alex Peters in 2008 (2:28.84).  Reid was a winner in the 100 Breaststroke on Friday when she had a sensational time of 1:08.57, which was the fifth fastest time in program history.  In addition, Reid finished second in the 50 Freestyle on Friday (25.24).

Saddleback had four others with top-5 finishes over the weekend in Kaitlyn Dawley, Marin Hickson, Carson Mackenzie and Gabrielle Pasillas.  Dawley was a third place finisher three times, finishing third in the 200 Individual Medley (2:24.20), 400 Individual Medley (5:10.74) and 200 Backstroke (2:25.94).  Hickson was third in the 1,650 Freestyle (19:33.95) while finishing fourth in the 400 Individual Medley (5:16.14).  Mackenzie was fifth in the 100 Fly (1:12.45) while Pasillas was fifth in the 200 Freestyle (2:08.11). 

The 3C2A State Championships will be held at Orange Coast on May 2-4.
