The Saddleback women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 6-1 victory at Fullerton College on Friday in Fullerton. The Bobcats wrapped up a second straight Orange Empire Conference title with the win.
The decision was never in doubt as Fullerton entered the game with a shortage of players and had to play the entire game down a couple of players. The Bobcats took advantage early and then cruised across the finish line with their 10th straight win while running their unbeaten streak to 15.
Saddleback opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Chloe Campagne fed Jinan Said with her team-leading 11th goal of the season. Four minutes later Said was back involved, assisting on a goal from Anjelina Nieto for a 2-0 advantage.
Saddleback played 25 players in the game, firing over 30 shots in the offensive zone. Isabelle Whittaker scored consecutive goals in the 33rd and 48th minute to make the score 4-0 early in the second half. Whittaker has now scored in three straight games for the Bobcats.
Saddleback added insurance goals in the 57th and 66th minutes. Aija Vallis scored off a pass from Whittaker to make it 5-0 before feeding Avery Bollin for her first goal of the season and a 6-0 lead.
Saddleback finishes the regular season 15-2-3 overall and 12-0-2 in Orange Empire Conference play. The Bobcats now await a playoff announcement, which is expected on Sunday.
