Cats swarm Hornets for outright title

The Saddleback women's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 6-1 victory at Fullerton College on Friday in Fullerton.  The Bobcats wrapped up a second straight Orange Empire Conference title with the win.

The decision was never in doubt as Fullerton entered the game with a shortage of players and had to play the entire game down a couple of players.  The Bobcats took advantage early and then cruised across the finish line with their 10^th straight win while running their unbeaten streak to 15.

Saddleback opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Chloe Campagne fed Jinan Said with her team-leading 11^th goal of the season.  Four minutes later Said was back involved, assisting on a goal from Anjelina Nieto for a 2-0 advantage.

Saddleback played 25 players in the game, firing over 30 shots in the offensive zone.  Isabelle Whittaker scored consecutive goals in the 33^rd and 48^th minute to make the score 4-0 early in the second half.  Whittaker has now scored in three straight games for the Bobcats.

Saddleback added insurance goals in the 57^th and 66^th minutes.  Aija Vallis scored off a pass from Whittaker to make it 5-0 before feeding Avery Bollin for her first goal of the season and a 6-0 lead.

Saddleback finishes the regular season 15-2-3 overall and 12-0-2 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats now await a playoff announcement, which is expected on Sunday.
