Two more cats commit to the dogs

The Saddleback women's soccer team was back in the news this week with the announcement of two more players committing to a four-year school.  Zoe Chung and Rylie Laisy opted to join their teammates at Fresno State later this month.

It's unusual to have more than one player sign at the same school in any given year but Saddleback now has four committed to Fresno State University after Chung and Laisy opted to join Lizbeth De Loera and Averee Campos, who committed earlier in December.  That makes four players from the state and national championship team now committed to (DI) four-year universities, which is a program record.

Chung was both an All-Orange Empire Conference and all-state selection this past season, scoring the final goal of the season when she drove a ball into the upper-corner of the net off a set piece in the state finals.  She finished with two goals and five assists this past season and had two goals and seven assists in 45 games at Saddleback over the past two seasons.

Laisy was a pillar on the back end for Saddleback and part of a defense that recorded 33 shutouts in the past two seasons.  She had three assists in 47 appearances over the past two years.

Fresno State is located in Fresno, California, and plays an NCAA DI schedule within the Mountain West Conference.
