The Saddleback women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to 12 games on Friday with a 8-0 win against Santa Ana College inside the Saddleback Stadium. The Bobcats have now gone five straight games without giving up a goal.
Saddleback has strung together 477 minutes without giving up a goal after recording their 11th shutout of the season on Friday. Santa Ana recorded just one shot in the game while the Bobcats ran their record to 13-1-3 overall and 8-0-2 in Orange Empire Conference play.
Saddleback started quick and never looked back, taking a 5-0 lead into the locker room at the half. Kylie Beu opened the scoring with her seventh goal of the season off a pass from Averee Campos for a 1-0 lead. The Bobcats would get goals from Christina Santoyo (3), Alyssa Mendoza (2) and two goals from Lizbeth De Loera (11 & 12) to close out the half.
Saddleback took the opportunity to get a ton of fresh jerseys into the game in the second half with the decision well in-hand. Kaitlyn Arciniega scored her first goal of the season in the 68th minute to give the Bobcats a 6-0 advantage. With the goal, Saddleback now has 17 different players that have scored this season.
Saddleback added two late goals from Abby Grabowski (6) and Genesis Long (3).
Jamie-Lynne Clark and Olivia Wynn both played a half in goal.
Saddleback will play at Fullerton College on Tuesday at 3:00 PM before returning home for a big matchup with Santiago Canyon College on Friday at 3:00 PM.
