Do finishes second in season-opener

The Saddleback women's golf team opened the season with a sixth place finish at the Desert Classic on Sunday in Palm Desert.  Sophomore Brittney Do finished in second place in medalist play after shooting a two-round total of 151.

Do was an all-state selection as a freshman after finishing fourth in the state tournament last November.  She also finished second at the Orange Empire Conference Finals and helped the Gauchos finish 31-1 in OEC play during the 2017 campaign.

Do opened the Desert Classic with a 3-over-par round of 77 on Saturday at the Par-74 Legends Course.  She closed with a 2-over-par round of 74 on Sunday on the Resort Course, finishing six shots off the pace set by Irvine Valley's Katie Stribling. 

Saddleback finished in sixth place as a team.  The Gauchos will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Royal Vista Golf Course for the first Orange Empire Conference match of the year, hosted by Fullerton College.
