Bobcats outlast Griffins

The Saddleback women's basketball team moved above .500 with a 64-57 win against Grossmont College on Friday night inside the gymnasium.  Aleksia Gadea led the Bobcats in the scorebook.

Gadea finished with 22 points to lead all scorers in the game.  She scored half of those points in the fourth quarter when it really mattered.

Saddleback led 45-44 heading into the final quarter in what turned out to be a back-and-forth game down the stretch.  Gadea was 3-for-3 over the final 10 minutes and made 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

Saddleback's defense was a difference-maker as well, holding Grossmont scoreless over the final two minutes of the game.  Meanwhile, the Bobcats were very good from the free throw line, making 8-of-10 over the final quarter and 25-of-32 for the game.

Saddleback had two others in double-figures as Moanike'ala Scott had 15 points and Alex Surrena-Thompson 11 points for the night.

Saddleback is now 5-4 overall for the season.  The Bobcats will host Antelope Valley College on Wednesday night at 5:00 PM.
