Surf finishes 4th at NSSA Finals

The Saddleback surf team finished up another successful season at the National Scholastic Surfing Association College (NSSA) National Championships on Sunday in Dana Point.  The Bobcats finished fourth in the country.

Saddleback had one of the great performances turned in by Taylor Stacy (pictured below), who captured the individual national title on the women's side in the shortboard competition.  Stacy put up a score of 14.1 to distance herself from the second-place finisher.

Another tremendous effort was put in by Tommy Coleman, who finished third in the men's longboard competition.

Saddleback's team score was 67, which was good enough for fourth place out of 16 teams participating.  The Bobcats captured the NSSA state championship for a fourth time in March.  Saddleback has won three national championships in surfing ('06, '14, '22).  Point Loma Nazarene captured its second straight national title on Sunday.
