
Bobcats take 3rd at OEC Tourney
The Saddleback men's water polo team won the third-place game of the Orange Empire Conference Tournament on Saturday at Golden West College. The Bobcats now await information regarding the Southern California Regional Playoffs.
Saddleback never trailed in the game. The Bobcats took a 2-1 lead in the opening quarter when Matthew Arellano connected at the 4:45 mark. Cypress would never get even the rest of the way.
Saddleback increased the lead to four (7-3) when Armand Le Goff scored his second goal of the game with 2:18 remaining in the half. Le Goff would end up leading the team with four goals for the day.
Saddleback led 7-4 at the half and came out of the break with a sense of purpose. The Bobcats scored four straight goals to put the game out of reach for the Chargers. Saddleback would increase the lead to seven midway through the fourth quarter when Le Goff tallied his final goal of the game.
Saddleback is now 19-14 overall and 4-4 in Orange Empire Conference play. The 19 wins is the 10th most win in a season in program history.
