Bobcats clean up at SWC Tourney
The Saddleback men's water polo team had a successful weekend, winning three straight games on Saturday at the Southwestern College Invitational in Chula Vista. The Bobcats are now 6-9 overall.
Saddleback looked like a well-oiled machine, outscoring the three opponents from the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference 65-30.
Saddleback raced past host Southwestern in the opener 35-8. The Bobcats had six goals apiece from Cross Viter (pictured) and Armand Le Goff in the win. Saddleback scored nine straight goals at one point over a 4:54 span.
Saddleback then defeated Grossmont College, 18-12, in the second game of the day. The Bobcats led by two (10-8) just before half before going on a 5-1 streak to put the game out of reach. Armand Le Goff led the team with five goals in the victory.
Saddleback finished with a 12-10 win over Palomar in the third game of the day. The Bobcats fell behind 0-2 to start the game before surging past the Comets for the win. The game was tied at 6-6 late in the first half when Saddleback turned up the juice, scoring four straight goals to take a 10-6 lead heading into the final quarter. Tyler Kiklas led the Bobcats with three goals in the game.
Saddleback is now 6-9 overall on the season. The Bobcats (6-9, 1-2) will jump back into Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Cypress College (7-6, 2-1). The game is scheduled to start at 4:15 at Cypress.
