Bobcats sweep weekly awards

The Saddleback athletic department is proud to announce that athletes from the school have swept the weekly Orange Empire Conference Athlete-of-the-Week Awards.  Armand Le Goff and Danna Ibarra Canales were both selected for this past week.

Le Goff was part of a Saddleback water polo team that traveled to Bucknell University for a two-day tournament against four-year schools on the East Coast.  They also started the week with a game at Golden West in OEC play.  Le Goff finished with 22 goals for the week, scoring a season-high six goals against McKendree University on Sunday.  He now leads the team with 40 goals through 11 games.

Ibarra Canales was the runaway winner in the Golden West Invitational on Friday in Huntington Beach.  She finished the 5k trek in 18:57.48, which was more than 13 seconds ahead of her closest competitor in a race featuring 141 runners.  Ibarra Canales has won all three races the Bobcats have run this season.
