Krosby captures OEC pole vault title

The Saddleback men's track & field team finished third at the Orange Empire Conference Finals on Friday at Riverside City College.  Micah Krosby was part of a dominant performance by the Bobcats in the pole vault.

Krosby had a season-best performance on Friday, clearing 4.40-meters on his opening attempt to edge teammate Caden Delgado.  Both competitors ended up clearing  4.40 but Delgado had to wait until his third and final attempt before clearing the height.  Krosby's vault was .02-meters better than his previous best of 4.38 at the Cerritos Invitational.  Delgado's vault easily eclipsed his previous-best of 4.25-meters earlier in the season at the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational. 

Saddleback finished 1-2-5 in the event, with Joshua Dubay also finishing fifth.  In doing so, the Bobcats captured 22 team points in the event. 

Saddleback finished in third place out of sixth teams at the OEC Finals. 

Daniel May captured the conference title in the javelin a week earlier at the prelims.  Other with top-5 finishes included Ke'sean Goodson (13.84m) and Ja'Qorie Goodson (12.99m) who finished 2-4, respectively, in the triple jump.  Sean McEwen finished fourth in the 400 meters (49.30).  Ryan Horner was a third place finisher in the long jump (6.56m).  Ryan Doherty had a great run in finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles (56.33).  Jaeden Cornejo finished fourth in the 1,500-meters (4:07.48) and was third in the 800 meters (1:59.55).  Alec Delgado was fourth in the high jump (1.85m). 

Saddleback finished third in the 4x400 relay (3:38.80) and fifth in the 4x100 relay (50.49).
