Men’s swim has solid performances at OEC Meet

The Saddleback men's swim and diving team hosted the rest of the Orange Empire Conference on Friday and walked away with a number of solid performances.  The Bobcats had ten, top 10 finishes on the day.

Nathan Lawson led the way, finishing in the top 10 in three separate events.  Lawson was fifth in both the 100 Breaststroke (1:05.54) and 200 Breaststroke (2:33.11) while finishing sixth in the 100 Individual Medley (1:01.96).  The three finishes earned Saddleback a team-leading 41 points for the team total.

Diego Phelps was another with three finishes in the top 10.  Phelps was seventh in the 100 Backstroke (1:06.44) while finishing eighth in both the 100 Butterfly (57.79) and 200 Butterfly (2:19.10).  Phelps finished second on the team with 34 team points.

Oliver Child had the best individual finish on the day when he finished fourth in the 100 Backstroke (1:01.99).  He also had a top 10 finish when finishing ninth in the 400 Individual Medley (5:03.21).

Other top 10 finishes were turned in by Sam Lindelof and Michael Matchan.  Lindelof finished fifth in the 100 Backstroke (1:02.34) while Matchan was ninth in the 100 Breaststroke (1:12.40).

Saddleback finished fifth in the team event.  The Bobcats will be back in the water on March 21 at Riverside City College.
