Bobcats 2nd at Arroyo

The Saddleback men's golf team finished in second at the Orange Empire Conference Coastal Division match at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club on Monday in Mission Viejo.  Jack Shipton earned medalist honors.

Shipton has been a consistent force for Saddleback this season and came into the match at Arroyo in second place overall in the race for the OEC individual medley honors.  Shipton moved closer to the top spot with an even par round of 72.

Saddleback was on its home course and used it to its advantage in edging closer to .500 in conference play.  The Bobcats are now 12-13 in OEC Coastal play after going 3-1 on Monday.

Shipton and the Bobcats shot 393 (+33) as a team as scores were up due to wet course conditions and a consistent breeze that blew during the afternoon hours.  Dallas Ryan, Tyler Chapman and Jonathan Shelton all shot 78 (+6) to finish in a tie for seventh place in medalist play. 

Saddleback will play again next Wednesday at Steele Canyon Golf Club.
