The Saddleback football program was back in the news this week with the announcement that 16 different players have made the all-conference team.  The Bobcats will host Bakersfield College on Tuesday in the Patriotic Bowl.

With the regular season in the rear-view window the coaches from the National Division Southern League convened to select an all-league team.  The Bobcats had 11 players named to the offensive team and five more to the defensive team.

Saddleback had a total of seven players named to the All-National Division Southern League First Team.  The offense was represented by offensive lineman Paris Smith, tight end Brayden Bockler, wide receiver Dane Benedix, running back Darrien Campbell and kicker Sean Olvera-Harle.  Linebacker Jackson Irwin and defensive back Jackson Hagopian (selected as utility) were selected to the first team on defense.

Saddleback had nine others selected to the second team, with six coming on the offensive side of the ball.  Offensive linemen Davis Theis and Gabriel Alvarado were joined by tight end Josh Pikl, wide receiver Andrez Lewis, quarterback Trey Kukuk and wide receiver Omarjaye Black (selected as utility).  The defense had three players selected to the second team in defensive tackle Emil Ventura, defensive end Brennen Acosta and safety Joseph Chavez
