Girardi is the latest commit
The Saddleback baseball program was back in the news this week with the announcement that another member of the 2023 team has made a commitment to a four-year university. Pitcher will Girardi gave his commitment to UNLV earlier this week.
Girardi is the second member of the team to make a commitment since the end of the season and the fifth player overall. He will join second baseman Jason Hefft at UNLV, who gave a verbal to the Rebels three weeks back.
Girardi pitched in 17 games this season, finishing 4-2 with a 4.66 ERA. Girardi surrendered just 14 bases-on-balls in 63.2 innings of work while starting 10 games. Following the regular season, Girardi was named to the All-Orange Empire Conference First Team.
Girardi came to Saddleback from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he played in 21 games for the Bluegold.
Previous to UWEC, Girardi lettered in baseball and football at Deer Creek-Mackinaw High School (IL) before graduating in 2021. While at DCMHS, he was a first team all-conference selection.
