Holt signs with UCSD
The Saddleback baseball program was back in the news this week as another member of the 2021 squad has signed with a four-year institution. Pitcher Ethan Holt made the decision to continue his baseball career at UC San Diego, according to the baseball office.
Holt was a consistent rock in the Saddleback bullpen this season, finishing 1-0 with two saves and a 0.90 ERA for the year. Holt appeared in a team-leading 11 games, surrendering just two earned-runs in 20 innings of work. In addition, he was named to the All-Orange Empire Conference First Team following the season.
UC San Diego plays an NCAA D1 schedule within the Big West Conference. The Tritons finished 24-28 overall and 21-19 in Big West play in 2021.
Holt becomes the eighth member of the program to sign with a four-year school this year.
