Baseball commits keep growing

Things have really picked up for the Saddleback baseball program, who reported another commitment to a four-year school earlier in the week.  The Gauchos are up to seven commitments after Alex Zerfass made a pledge to Gonzaga.

Things have sped up in recent weeks for the baseball program, with rumors flying about that more could be on the way.  Zerfass made a commitment to Gonzaga University, a D1 program located in Spokane, Washington.  The Bulldogs play in the West Coast Conference.

Zerfass played in 18 games this past season before the season was cut short due to the Coronavirus.  The freshman from El Toro High School was batting .362 in 58 at-bats and had just two errors in the field in 128 total chances.  Zerfass' biggest game of the season came against Cuesta College when he went 4-for-4 with two RBI in a 5-1 win against the Cougars.

Zerfass came to Saddleback from El Toro High School where he lettered in baseball before graduating in 2018.  While at ETHS, Zerfass was part of a CIF championship program in 2017.
