Candalla is latest Gaucho to commit

The baseball program was back in the news this weekend when the baseball office announced that outfielder Kyle Candalla has signed a letter-of-intent.  The Gauchos now have 14 players from the 2016 team that have committed to four-year universities.

Candalla will continue his baseball career at Cal Poly Pomona, located in Pomona, California.  The Broncos play an NCAA D2 schedule in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and finished 42-13 in 2016, making it all the way to the D2 championships in North Carolina.

Candalla played in 39 games this spring, batting .325 with 28 RBI and 11 stolen bases.  In addition, had a .974 fielding percentage.  He graduated from Mission Viejo High School where he was an All-Sea View League selection and played in the North vs. South All Star Game.
