Women run ninth at SoCal Preview

The Saddleback women's cross country finished in ninth place at the SoCal Preview Meet held in Bakersfield on Friday.  Shaelynn Barbieri led the Bobcats in individual competition.

Saddleback was facing close to 30 programs on Friday in what is a good indicator on how the program stacks up against the majority of competition in Southern California.  The Bobcats held their own, finishing in the top third.

Shaelynn Barbieri led Saddleback with a 44^th place finish in individual competition, finishing 27^th among programs with a full team.  She crossed the finish line of the 5k trek in 21:30.3, which was a few seconds quicker than her time in Huntington Beach a week earlier. 

Barbieri was followed closely by Casey Jones, who was just behind her and finishing 47^th overall and 29^th in the team competition with a time of 21:35.0.  The Bobcats had two others in the top-65 overall in Naomi Roe (56^th) and Mia Arnwine (63^rd). 

Saddleback is back in action on October 7 at the San Diego Mesa College Invitational at NTC Park (Liberty Station).
