Bobcats run third at opener
The Saddleback women's cross country team opened the 2022 campaign with a third place finish at the San Diego Cross Country Kickoff on Friday at Harry Griffin Park. Shaelynn Barbieri and Casey Jones led the Bobcats with top-10 finishes.
Barbieri (left) finished the trek in San Diego in 15:07 to finish in fifth place overall. It was a good start to the season for Barbieri, who was an All-Orange Empire Conference selection a season ago.
Jones (right) finished in 15:33 to finish in 10th place in the race. Following her through the finish line for Saddleback was Mia Arnwine (14th) and Lauren McKevitt (20th).
Saddleback finished in third place out of the seven programs represented at the meet. Cuyamaca College captured first place at the event.
Saddleback cross country will be back in action on September 16 at the Golden West Invitational at Central Park in Huntington Beach.
