The Saddleback women’s water polo program was back in the news this week with the announcement that head coach Molly Andrews has been named the winner of the Sandy Nitta Award. Andrews guided the Bobcats to the program’s first playoff appearance in 17 years.

The Saddleback women’s water polo team opened the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Playoffs with a 17-9 win against Cypress College on Thursday at Long Beach City College. It was a program-record 19th win for the team this season.
Women end playoff drought

For the first time in 17 years the Saddleback women’s water polo team has qualified for the Southern California Regional Tournament after being seeded seventh at the water polo coach’s association meeting on Sunday. The Bobcats will play on Thursday against Cypress College in the opening (play-in) round.
Bobcats beat Golden West for fourth place

The Saddleback women’s water polo team defeated Golden West College, 12-9, on Wednesday in Huntington Beach to take over fourth place in the Orange Empire Conference. The Bobcats had five goals from Akema Nakachi in the win.
